Just when I feel discouraged, He lifts me up. Just when my heart is heavy he brings light. I have been tired, and so my view has been bleaker than usual. But God bought people into my life today who have so blessed me. Mudite: She works with the families through HFY, visits them and intercedes for them to the government. We talked today, and I wrote down story after story of what God has done through HFY. How can we help but rejoice when we recall the amazing working of God. Yet, we so often forget. Zane: I have been wanting to interact more with youth, and especially one girl. I know her home situation is really hard. Today as I waited for the train she was coming my way. We had a good talk and it blessed my heart to see how God brought her across my path today. She is studying during the day and working after that till about 11, she is maybe 15. The past few days we had very strong winds here, perhaps the strongest I have ever experienced in Latvia. Because of this a tree fell on a power line near our house and we have been without electricity since Saturday. As of Sunday evening we have partial electricty, which is such a blessing. At least now we have water again!! How often we take the "little things" for granted. I have felt like I have been living in another era doing everything by candlelight and we even did the cooking over the old wood-burning stove. These have been some "dark days" but praise be to God that he never leaves us. Today we awoke to our first real frost, it was a heavy one and everything was again coated in a frosty glaze. It always reminds me of a lightly sugared world:) Then as the sun sparkles on the trees and grass, how can one help by praise God, who has created all things well. Even when we have dark days, he is right there with us. Praise the Lord!!I started my new English teaching job Thursday, it was difficult to get going in the morning and catch the morning train. But I really enjoyed my first two classes. I had 3 women in one class and 2 young women the second. It is interesting to get to know some new people and in a different setting than I am familiar with. Pray God will shine through me in my work place. I'm in need for some real wisdom right now in regards to some upcoming things, would you pray God will guide me? Thank you. Blessings on your day!!____________________________________________________________________________________Tibit of the day: Did you know that Latvian's like to eat the seeds from hemp or marijuana plants? In former times they were grown more abundantly here and the seeds were put into butter for a tasty spread for bread. Now it is illegal to grow them, except for perhaps one plant. But you can still buy the seeds to eat on bread and butter.
