Musings

Fall is upon us, which in Latvia means rain, and damp, wet days. Houses are cold, unless people have already started heating. Our house is also cool, making it necessary to keep active. Life has been quiet this week, with plans for the future, and prayers about how God would have me be ministering now. This week as I pondered some scriptures these verses from John 12 spoke to me, I am reading from a parallel Bible with several translations, and when reading it again from the Message this passage hit me in a whole new way: In the same way, anyone who holds on to life just as it is destroys that life. But if you let it go, reckless in your love, you’ll have it forever real and eternal. If any of you wants to serve me, then follow me. Then you’ll be where I am, ready to serve at a moments notice. The Father will honor and reward anyone who serves me.There are some things that require letting go of for growth, this means stepping out in faith and following no matter the cost. It is hard to do, very hard. But don’t we want the best of all lives, a life in line with God’s plan for us?

Here you will see Lauris with his wife Maija and their baby Samuel. Lauris is the pastor of the church we pray for every week in Skriveri (Mentioned in FBC's weekly bulletin). There baby is so cute and happy, I saw him for the first time today, and he sure made me smile.

Thanks for keeping me in your prayers, I know you are praying and that means so much to me!!
