How wonderful it is to again be together as a family, after a whole year of not being all at home at one time. God has brought me safely across the ocean again, and I am here to celebrate the season with my family as well as making final wedding preparations.
I have so much to rejoice about today and I would like to share a few things I am thankful for:
You: I am so thankful for each of you God has brought into my life, for your prayers, your gifts and for the fact that you have believed in me and what I am doing. Thank you!
Family: God has blessed me with such a great family, they have been so supportive during my time in Latvia. We have been in communication almost daily, and are doing so much to help with the wedding.
Janis: God has blessed me with such a good friend and someone who longs to encourage, love and support me, as well as someone who wants to share his life with me. We have such hopes and dreams of serving together. . .
Sunny days: The weather has been simply lovely here in Iowa, we have been enjoying 50s and today it has reached 60 degrees. We've gotten to enjoy some lovely walks too! I really love getting to chat with my siblings on our daily walks.
Faith: It is only by the grace of God that we can live in peace each day. In the midst of trials and confusion God speaks peace to our hearts. This Fall He has showed me as ever that He is right beside me, and that though I do not understand what He does, He is in control!
Work: This Fall I have had the priviledge of teaching English in various prestigious areas in Riga, the capital of Latvia. I am honored to be able to work in these settings, with leaders and business people. I pray God has used me and will continue to use me in the days to come. Thank God for such a job, as well as each and every student who has crossed my path and whom I continue to teach.
Joy: I am so happy for the fact that each day is new, and that each day God gives us a chance to walk in faith and simple trust. I am happier each day because I can trust Him. Isn't it amazing the joy God gives when we just trust Him? It isn't always so simple as it should be. . .but how good it is to rest in peace and joy.
Happy Thanksgiving, enjoy it to the fullest, thanking God who does all things well. Also, I would love to know what you are thankful for today!!
