Thankfulness

I so often fail to express enough thankfulness. God has been fantastically good to me, and I need to give him more recognition for that.

My little ones are on the mend, and back to their old selves as far as attitudes go (well almost completely). They are happy, perky, and fun. My little brown eyed girl has the sweetest, darkest eyes. She is such a doll. Daniel has the cutest dimples and I sometimes laugh outright when he flashes them at me.

I have been reminded several times lately how blessed I am to have a home and not to live with extended family. Our neighbors have four generations living in one house. The grandparents who own the house live downstairs, their son and his wife live upstairs in one room. Their daughter and her husband, and two daughters live in the other room upstairs. This would be hard in normal circumstances, but just now they are all at home because their menfolk work on roads and in winter they have no work. I cannot even imagine how hard it must be to have 10 people all at home, all the time. Wow, thank you Lord for our own place.
(Of course there are lots of benefits to living close to relatives and I wish my parents lived closer.  . . )

Janis has work- that is a blessing.

We are off to America in a little over a month. I am excited, but keep worrying about money and our trip plans to the Grand Canyon. I hope we are able to find cheap places to stay (we are looking for hosts and churches). I also am always wanting money to spend. I need to be thankful to just be going to America (without additional shopping sprees). What a greedy little wretch I am.

I have been reading "Little Women." I am so challenged and reminded of the mother I ought to be by the example of motherhood and godliness Marmee shows in that book. If you have never read it, I highly recommend it!

Thank God for health, and healing. Thank God that we are on the mend. Thank God for work and home and happy babies. Thank God for you, my dear friends. Thank God for opportunities to travel, learn and love.

  1. I thank God for answering prayer for your family and that health is being restored!! Steve has been battling sickness for two weeks now. Rebekah was ill before her journey to Uganda. She returns on Monday, March 7, the day after her 25th birthday. The trip has been hard for her, but God opened the doors for her to go and provided. Please continue to pray for her. She has had many opportunities to share her testimony: two or more times per day speaking in front of a group. God bless you and your family!! MAY HE PROVIDE ABOVE AND BEYOND FOR YOUR JOURNEY TO AMERICA!!! I LOVE YOU ALL!!
