Faith like a Child

For some time I have been trying to recover from a nasty cough. As a Mom I have a hard time slowing down and getting enough rest to fully recover. Yesterday I was feeling chilled, and cold. I took the kids to my room and climbed under the covers, meanwhile measuring my temperature. Yes, I had a slight fever, no wonder I was cold.

My kids played contentedly and at one moment Daniel came over to to my side. He put his little hand on my head, and said something like "Dievs" which means "God" in Latvian. Then he closed his eyes and in his little voice muttered a prayer. I didn't catch anything of what he said, besides "God- Dievs". When he was finished he whispered, "Choochi" which means "go to sleep".

I was so touched by his faith, and the proof that the examples he sees us exhibiting he is using in his own life. (I started crying) We pray with him when he is sick, and before he goes to bed, and he decided to do the same for me! How very precious!

  1. The only adjective I can come up with for this story is "sweet". :)
