The last few days we had been without potatoes. I don't know how you feel about potatoes where in you live. But in Latvia they are the staple of every household. We had called a guy to bring us some, and he finally was able to deliver us a bag tonight. We got 40 kilograms, a whole 88 lbs.
Most Latvians plan on using on bag of potatoes per person and typically buy that many if they have a place to store them. When the winter started we bought two bags. This is our fourth. Can you believe we eat that many potatoes! Wow, how yummy.
Feeling pretty special over here, especially since we now have a contact that delivers these tasty morsels right to our door. Thank God we finally have some more potatoes in the house, I was getting desperate as to what to cook at our next meal.
My dad LOVES potatoes. He may have an obsession. Just about every meal if there are no potatoes he asks where they are, and he said he wants his tombstone to read, "All I wanted was some potatoes." :p
ReplyDeleteHow do you prepare the potatoes? Did it take you a long time to adjust to life in Latvia?
