Beyond happiness

I really feel I have reached the state of being beyond happiness. What could I ever hope to really need or desire that God could not supply? He has been amazingly good to me.

Last week my family returned to the States after a visit and time of ministry here in Latvia. I had prayed that God would use that time. He didn't just use it, he blessed it and filled every moment with joy. We were able to do so much together. Those days flew by, I knew when going into them that would be the case. The hours were just not enough. How I miss my family. I miss them more now then before they came, I think it is because they stepped into the world I know and made themselves part of it. In this knowing I see how my life is enriched and bettered with them here, and I wish that could go on and on.

It was fun to cook with my mom again and see her interacting with one elderly lady in Latvian, the lady didn't know one word of English and my mom knows just a little Latvian. I was proud of my mom's ability to communicate with this lady! WOW!

It was awesome to have my sister want to walk hand in hand and even squish me by sitting on my lap as she loves to do. Oh my baby sister, I miss her. She did such a superb job singing and was an instrument of healing to those around her.

It was great to chat with Matthew (my brother) in the evenings over tea and garlic, the cure for a cold. How I loved seeing his heart for God come out in the ministry that he did.

It was wonderful to hear my dad preach again and we were blessed by some garden work he did for us.

There were three others who made up the team that came from America and it was fun to get to know them, and see God use them.

Our days were filled with visits, ministry and sightseeing. It was great to be able to see my family (Mom, Matthew and Rachel) see the places they once knew 11 years ago. I so enjoyed asking them what has changed and what they remembered.

There are still so many things I long to show my family, and look forward to many more opportunities to do so in the future, if God wills it.

In additon to all of this our kitchen cabinets have finally arrived, so we are in the process of finishing up our kitchen. In the above picture you can see a bit our how it is looking, though there will still be lower cabinets.

Truly God is good to his people. Praise His Holy Name!

With Love,

Elizabeth
