Delight

The sun is warming my garden again, filling every corner with golden hues. After many days of overcast skies, it feels heaven has broken open. The evening is still and glorious. The cherry trees have begun to bloom and the grass is glistening, golden and fresh. Birds skitter across my garden, and radishes have begun to appear.

I stand in the corner of our yard, looking at our house, amazed. It is amazing to have a house of ones own. We owe nothing. It is ours, we can do with it as we like and make it to shape our dreams.

As I wander through my yard my head is filled with ideas and plans for the gardens I will someday make and the flowers that will someday sweeten the air in this place. Our garden is already an arbor of fruit trees. . .

I feel delighted, and long to linger in the stillness of this golden evening. My house calls to me, reminding me of what needs to be done. Walls to be painted and dishes to be washed. Yet what is to trouble one about little details, when God has so blessed us?

Overflowing with joy and delight, my heart is full.

God is good.
