My Birthday

Saturday I was joined by some friends to celebrate my birthday. I made all kinds of Mexican foods, which I had never made before, and everything turned out delicious. It was fun to make something unusual to Latvian tongues. For dessert we had cheesecake, it was the first time I have made it in Latvia and I had been really wanting it. Everyone really like that too.
After the meal we played a variety of table games. It was fun to just be together with friends and everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves. Towards the end of the evening I was challenged in chess, it was a long and serious game as you can see. One friend told me it was the most relaxing even she has had in ages. I was happy to hear that.
We all enjoyed playing games, and it was quite late by the time everyone went home. Besides being blessed with a wonderful birthday, I have also recieved some packages for my birthday. It is such a thrilling experience to get a package, since it doesn't come right to my house, that prolongs the excitement. When a package has arrived at the post office, they put a slip of paper in your mailbox. Then you have to take your passport and the slip of paper and go to the main post office in town. Usually there is a long line, and the waiting is hard. But today I got another birthday package and it was a nice short line. How thankful I am to be remembered by family and friends back home. You are all so dear to me.
