A Blessed Chistmas

In the busyness leading up to this special holiday I was struck with how good God has been to us in the last year. I was reminded how truly blessed I am and thankful for the good things God is doing in our lives.

One matter of thankfulness occurred in a rather obscure manner. About a month ago our pastor informed the church of the death of man who had been stabbed. This was a shock to hear as this type of thing seldom happens here and the pastor had visited with this man before and been trying to build contacts with him spiritually. About a week or so after that Janis (my husband) informed me that the murderer was a client of his. He had been to the man's house and I even remembered him telling me of this odd personage after he had worked for him. I was extremely grateful that God protected my husband and continues to do so as he comes in contact with strange clients.

There is a perfect dusting of snow and ice- making things look wintry and festive. I rejoice when the seasons are as they ought to be. .. cold in winter, etc.

Amelija is sick today with a high fever- but hopefully it will pass quickly.

We had a lovely visit with relatives yesterday on Christmas Eve. We then headed to the Christmas Eve service which was beautiful as usual and very crowded. I am embarrassed to admit Daniel was utterly lacking of manners and could not sit still. I think that no nap time for several days and an abundance of emotions with all the guests left him out of control. Sad.

We had him doing chores when we got home as restitution for his misbehavior at church. We then had our family gift giving and enjoyed the kids delighting in their gifts. Amelija's favorite gift is her baby stroller. Daniel's favorite is his battery powered locomotive for his wooden train tracks.

I was delighted to get a waffle iron where I can cook 2 waffles at the same time. Some  friends gave us a little battery powered whisk for foaming milk for cappuccinos. Funny how such a little thing can delight a person so much. I love frothed milk in my coffee :)

Hope your Christmas was splendid and the next year a year of walking ever closer with Him.
