Today after the what should have been nap time Daniel was looking at books. I had just read him the story of "The Velveteen Rabbit." He then came to me as I was cleaning, showed me the poor rabbit crying and with tears in his voice and the most sad and pathetic expression told me about how the rabbit was crying.
I was so moved, having never seen him become emotional over a book that I started crying and then he really did shed a tear or two over the sad bunny who had been taken out of the house in the dark. Throughout the evening he came time and again to show me the sad rabbit and mourn his loss.
Cute, moving, love that sweet little boy.
