Three Cheers for Danny Boy!

June 18 Daniel turned three years old. He is a fun boy, sometimes very stubborn, but lively and all boy :) He loves tractors, airplanes, trains, and cars. He likes bossing his sister, and doesn't know how to share very well at all.

Amelja wanting to join in the fun, with her usual hand lifted.

In honor of his birthday I made him a train cake, he even got to help because it wasn't finished by his birthday morning. Every day leading up to his birthday he would talk about his train cake. It is fun that he is now so into his birthday and excited about it- this was the first year for that
.
We had invited friends and neighbors to come and with all the kids we had about 20 guests. Janis was in charge of the kid friendly attractions and he made a maze, and a place for them to let balls roll down a pipe route ( I don't know what to call it). We also had made some bubble solution and some huge bubble wands. The kids loved the bubbles!!

When we all sat down to eat Daniel was the only child who sat at the table long enough to eat everything on his plate. And he was so very talkative and entertaining to the adults. We got a kick out of him being so friendly, as it seemed as if he fully understood this party was in his honor.

Daniel got some fun gifts, his favorite seeming to be the soccer ball.

It was a fun day, and I was so thankful it didn't rain until after the cake. We had planned a cook out and I was praying hard it wouldn't rain. Although it was overcast the whole time we were only rained on when the cake was being nearly finished. After we went in the house everything became a madhouse- having that many kids on the run. The party soon dispersed after that.

Today the kids were so worn out they slept in until 8:30 a.m. that is unheard of in our home- it sure was nice to get to sleep in a bit.

Daniel can count to 3 in Latvian. But in English he says, 1,2, 6 . . .
