He came!

Just last week I was on needles and pins waiting for Matthew to arrive.

I felt he must have some sort of medal for having ridden so far on his bike and I dreamed up a fun, little medal for him. I painted it and got it ready for his arrival.

Monday afternoon the doorbell rang. I was upstairs, and waited. I heard Janis' exlamation of surprise and delight and knew who was there ( I had been expecting him all the time). I grabbed my medal, fan down the stairs and put in around his neck. We then exchanged hugs, took a picture, got a few fast stories and sent him to shower.

He informed us it had been 32 days since he left London, and 25 days since he had showered. Although he was able to wash in the sea and in rivers :)

I am hoping he will write a blog about his journeys because he has a whole mountain-load of amazing stories. You should write him a note and ask him to start a blog or something with all of his stories (if you know him)

After having spent too much money on his journey he is now looking for odd jobs, and so far has been employed by one lady several times. He is also doing some work for Janis, they have been starting too dig for our extension on the house. Daniel is loving the dirt and getting to dig!

  1. The medal was a great idea! :) I too have told him he needs to write a blog. He did say he was going to start one, but I don't think he has yet. I hope he does soon!
