The day after we were at my cousin's house we decided to go to a palace. I (Elizabeth) had never been to this palace and was very excited for the opportunity to finally see it. Unfortunately we did not have our camera along on this trip. I had no idea we were going to go to a palace.
The day was perfect, sunny, warm, and golden. It was fun to see the palace, even though none of it is remodeled. A school used to use the building, and then there was a fire and quite a bit of damage. But in some of the rooms traces of the original state can be glimpsed.
It was fun to have Daniel enjoying exploring the palace too. I so loved just being able to wander around the whole place, there was no guide. It gave me such a feeling of exploring and adventure to wander through a palace, opening whichever door I pleased. Oh, how fun! Daniel took his teddy along and that was darling. He has never carried his teddy along with him before, especially for the whole day.
When we had seen the palace we went to a cafe for lunch. We then walked around the palace grounds and enjoyed the golden leaves and acorns. We visited a nice Lutheran church and then headed back to the city. We had a beautiful walk, and thoroughly enjoyed the warmth of the day and the Autumn beauty all around us.
What a blessing it was to be able to enjoy an outing with just our little family. We rarely do that sort of relaxing outing. I was pondering on how special it was to be with my children and husband. It gave me such a feeling of completeness, fullness, satisfaction. Just like at the end of a good meal, when there has been a lovely dessert to top off a terrific entree. Or perhaps like coming to the end of a favorite book. I don't know quite how to explain this special feeling. But I thank God for my dear little family.
