- Coal and cold: It is winter here, as well as there, and that means work for us. We heat our house with coal. I often feel like a pioneer woman, running down in the morning to the basement to get the fire going. I wonder how those women managed so many household duties. I find it hard at times to find a moment to go get the fire going-but if I don't it will be cold. I like to do it when I know my son is down for a good long nap.
- Long lines: It seems there are lines to get most anything done here. My least favorite line is in the post office. In order to pick up a package you must take your passport and go to the central post office, usually I end up waiting about a half an hour there. But the packages sure make it worth the long wait!!
- Medical: Every person in LV is entitled to have a family doctor. This family doctor must take you- if you live in their region of the city. This means that going to your family doctor is free, paid for by the government. However, these doctors tend to be overworked and very busy. (They have rather bad attitudes at times too, I'm afraid). Should you choose to go to a private doctor, or a specialist, you must get a document from your family doctor in order for it to be cheaper to go to the private doctor. Private doctors usually have a much better attitude, are much less busy and give you more attention, but most people can't afford to see one regularly.
So that is a bit on life on LV in today. If you are interested to know more, just let me know.
I liked it, I want to know more. Very fascinating my friend!
