First Week of School

After beginning school September 1,  in tradtional style here and with our family celebration of taking the school aged child out for lunch we hit the full week of school this week, and got a true glimpse of what our schedules the next school year will look like. YIKES!

D-boy is in second grade for school and I am very thankful they are easing in with the homework and this first week he had very little to do at home. He is also in his first year of music school- which I can see is going to be far more demanding then the previous year of preparation. He will now have 2 piano lessons and 2 theory lessons a week. And after having had theory teachers who were very lax and gave no homework- this new one seems a bit intimidating. I hope he can keep up with his theory class and school. His one other club he will attend is Lego robotics- which he atended last year and LOVED.

My girlie is now starting music school- the prepatory level and she was SO excited to have her first theory lesson and her first piano lesson. Today she practiced every single tiny exercise she had been assigned at least 7 times. WOW! I hope she always stays this enthusiastic about her learning! It makes things MUCH easier!

Somehow we survived this first week of school- but man am I TIRED and so glad it is Friday!

With my brother in town for a couple of weeks with his wife- it has been nice to see them and catch up- hoping to see them much more before they leave!
