At times I feel like I fit here, at other times I feel quite a foreigner. There are so many stereotypes people have of America, it is really rather amusing at times. I laugh quietly as people state their opinions and things they've heard. Other times I oppose them and state how I think it is. Still other times I am asked if their assumed generalizations are true and what are some generalizations I have of Latvians. I usually try to avoid those answers, as I am way outnumbered here.
One of the things Latvia and Europe seems to bash the most is our American food, stating how unhealthy and fattening it is. There is some truth to that, I feel better eating Latvia's less processed foods.
I have started job hunting again. It appears that my former job in Riga isn't going to work out at this time, and so I need to find another workplace. Your prayers are appreciated as I search for work. Thank you!
