The Eve of Three

Darling Daughter of Mine, 

Tomorrow you will be three. 

The joy that fills your little face when you consider having a birthday, and wanting a princess cake is so dear. 

I love hearing about the things that interest you, and love your sweet little voice.

No words can express the joy I had when you were placed in my arms. I had so longed for a daughter and God blessed us with you! 

I am amazed at the beauty of your dark brown eyes. They delight me when you are happy and smile into my face. 

In the past month and over the past year we have struggled hard with  your atopic dermatitis on your hands. It has sometimes seemed you identify yourself with your hands and show them to visitors like you would show a prized toy. 

I want you to know that outward conditions and beauty will never define you. You are beautiful and perfect- NO MATTER what is happening with your skin and rash. True beauty comes from the heart, and a gentle and quiet spirit is valued. 

I pray that God would guard you all the days of you life.

 I pray that you would be a woman after His heart. 

I pray you would be blessed with the courage of Esther- willing to stand for what is right. 

I pray you would be faithful like Ruth. 

I pray that God would bless you with faith like Mary, to completely rely on the Almighty God to bless you with what is best in your life. 

I pray that you would always know that God loves you and that you would love Him and walk with Him all the days of your life.
