To my first child, my firstborn son, my Danny Boy.
Four years ago you entered this world and completely changed my life. You were not yet one hour old at this exact time.
It was a bright sunny June day. The cherry trees were loaded as they have not been since, every tree in our garden seemed to know the new master was being born. Since that year our old plum tree has never once harvested.
When my body screamed in pain and you were finally in my arms we both had been born, you a traveler in this world and I a mother.
Your little peeps and chirps seemed like a wee mouse. You were the smallest of all my babies, and our midwife said later the smallest baby she had delivered at home.
These four years have been hard, yet full of so much joy. In that first year and half you were in the hospital 3 times and had your first operation at 2 months of age.
Though then you seemed a tiny, fragile baby you were a fighter and so stubborn.
Your stubborness contiues to amaze us and you are by far the bossiest person in our house just now. You love bossing anyone who will let you boss them.
You continually amaze us with your creativity in building things and the funny things you say.
We love you our dearest Daniel!
