Spring Rains

Today it is raining. I awoke early to the gentle sound of rain. How happy I felt knowing that it was rain and not snow, a sure sign of spring.
This afternoon I stood outside on our porch, enjoying the pitter patter of rain. I love to listen to the rain, it is so very relaxing. If you close your eyes and listen the rain makes such beautiful,  calming music. Each place a drop of rain falls makes a different sound, it is truly wonderful. The pitter patter on our tin roof, the drip drop into a pool or puddle. The little din of drops falling here and there, what joy!
Spring is here, the snow is vanishing. The ground is appearing in all its muddy glory.
Our baby will soon come. It would be lovely if it were to be born on a rainy day. Then I could walk around outside during the birth and listen to the soothing sounds of the spring rains. While Daniel was being born I had water music/sounds playing in the background to help me relax, that was lovely.
