March On

Spring is here. With it even more of the duties of a wife and homemaker. I like these duties, thought at times they are a bit overwhelming. We just got new windows put in downstairs. Last week some friends joined me in making pizzas for a "True Love Waits" day at the church. It was the first time my kitchen has had so many people working together in it. I really enjoyed that. I look forward to many more times of serving together through the ministry of food. We made 7 big pizzas.

I am so enjoying my English classes. I have good students, fun people who are earnest about learning and a pleasure to work with. But I don't want this just to be a job. I fear growing cold to the spriritual needs of those around me. Oh that God would give us eyes to see more of how he sees. I long to make a difference in the lives of my students, to see them know Him.

I am enjoying thinking of warmer days and planting my own little garden. There is something so charming about the thought of raising ones own products, especially when this is for the first time. We have such a lovely yard. Janis enjoys fruit and has a myriad of fruit bearing trees and plants, apple trees, cherry, pear, quince, black currents, raspberries and tons of grapes. Lovely!

Monday we will celebrate Janis' birthday. It is a year of firsts for me, and I am looking forward to all the celebrations we will have together.
